Jiwon Song

Violinist Ji Won Song recevied B.M. and M.M. from the Seoul National University in Korea and later from Hochschule für Musik Köln with her Konzertexamen in Germany.


She won prizes at many major competitions, such as the Segye-Ilbo Competition, the Chosun-Ilbo Competition, Busan Music Competition, the KBS Music Competition, the Canetti International Violin Competition and the Lions-Music International Competition in Hessen, Germany.


She has performed as soloist with Daejeon Philharmonic Orchestra, Korean Chamber Orchestra, KBS Symphony Orchestra, Seoul National University Symphony Orchestra, Prime Philharmonic Orchestra, Gunsan Symphony Orchestra, Virtuoso Brunnsis(performed in 5 cities in Germany), Radio Symphony Orchestra of Moldova, Saaima Sinfonietta, Köln Chamber Orchestra, and Seoul Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra.


And, she was invited to give recitals at Seoul Arts Center, and Daejeon Culture and Arts Center in Korea, Haus Rodehorst in Germany and at Aomori Museum of Art in Japan.


Ji Won Song was principal first violinist with the Hamburger Symphoniker and principal second violinst with the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker in Germany.


She is currently lecturer of violin at Hanyang University - as adjunct professor, Yewon School, Seoul Arts High School, and Sunwha Arts High School. She gave a lecture to Seoul National University, Chungnam National University, Chung-ang University


She is also a member of the 'Hwaum Chamber Orchestra', Seoul Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra.
